Supporting therapists in private practice
Therapy is relational work and those who offer it deserve to be supported well.
Supervision offers a space to pause, reflect and think together about the work. It is a place to explore clinical process, ethical questions, relational dynamics and the wider context that shapes our practice.
Book a sessionMy supervision is designed for therapists working in private practice who want a space that combines depth, honesty and professional support.
Private practice can be deeply rewarding, but it can also be isolating. Supervision becomes a place where the practitioner themselves is supported, so they can continue to support others.
I hold supervision as a collaborative process. We work together to think about the work: learning from mistakes, recognising what is working and strengthening your confidence in your clinical judgement.
My approach
My core modality is Gestalt therapy, which means I pay close attention to awareness, relational process and what is emerging in the present moment.
I bring my experience as a Gestalt therapist in private practice to the supervision space, alongside a commitment to thoughtful and ethical clinical work.
Supervision often includes exploration of:
- the therapeutic relationship
- the therapist’s experience in the work
- patterns that emerge between therapist and client
- ethical questions and professional responsibility
- the wider field influencing the work
Alongside support, supervision can also be a place where we gently challenge assumptions and explore blind spots, always in service of the work and the clients we serve.
A space for real practice
Therapists carry significant responsibility. Historically the profession has often been underpaid, undervalued and sometimes framed as work that should be done out of sacrifice or goodwill.
I believe therapists deserve proper support, thoughtful supervision and sustainable careers. When therapists are supported well, the work they offer clients becomes stronger and more ethical.
Many of the therapists I work with are navigating the realities of private practice, including building sustainable caseloads, working independently and managing the emotional responsibility that comes with this work.
I also believe that therapists deserve to be supported in building practices that are both ethically grounded and financially sustainable.
Who I work with
I offer supervision for:
- qualified therapists in private practice
- therapists building or developing their practice
- practitioners looking for relationally focused supervision
While my background is Gestalt therapy, I welcome practitioners from different modalities who are open to a relational and reflective supervision process.
Sessions
Supervision sessions are available online or in person in St Albans.
I am currently completing the final stage of my supervision training and have a small number of supervision spaces available as I move towards launching this part of my practice.
If this feels like the kind of supervision space you are looking for, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial confidential conversation.
